My recommendation is to start low and gradually build up the dose over a number of weeks as you learn what the ideal range is for your body at any given time. I recommend people start taking hemp oil as a single night time dose and to stay at this starting dose (usually 5 single drops under the tongue) for a full week before increasing the dosage. If you feel groggy and foggy after taking a dose of hemp oil, just take less the next time and stay on the lower dose for a week to allow your body to get used to it. If you feel nothing on a starting dose, also stay with it for approximately one week because hemp’s action has a cumulative effect that increases slightly over time. If after a week you still feel nothing, increase the dosage to 10 drops at night and stay there for one more week before adjusting. It can take a few weeks to find your individual sweet spot with the hemp oil dosage, but the deep and gentle soothing benefits are well worth the patience. Once someone is comfortable with their night time dosing regimen, that’s when they can start adding a small morning or daytime dose. The same guidelines are used for figuring out your ideal morning or daytime hemp dose.
5 single drops under tongue at night and maintain this dose for approximately one week.
For sensitive people start with 2 single drops.
If necessary, increase to 10 single drops under tongue at night and maintain this dose for approximately one week.
For sensitive people go to 5 single drops.
This incremental dosage increase can be repeated as many times as necessary to find ideal dosage.
Morning dosages are usually added several weeks after beginning night time dosages, and can start at 2 single drops under the tongue, with a similar incremental weekly escalation until ideal dose is achieved.
If in doubt, always consult your doctor or a licensed health care provider before taking any medications, over-the-counter drugs, supplements or herbs.
